Most of you know that I am a bible geek and look forward to translation updates. Sometimes I talk about uncommon but very beautiful translations such as the International Standard Version (https://www.isv.org/bible/). With that being said, I’m looking forward to the 2020 update to the New American Standard Bible (NASB) from the Lockman Foundation. The NASB is known for its accuracy as a literal translation, but the 2020 NASB looks to be the smoothest reading NASB update so far. The Lockman Foundation is posting excerpts from the NASB 2020 on their Facebook page. You can check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/TheLockmanFoundation/. Here’s a sample of John 1:14-18.
And the Word became flesh, and made His home among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only 𝘚𝘰𝘯 from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about Him and called out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who is coming after me has proved to be my superior because He existed before me.’” For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; God the only 𝘚𝘰𝘯, who is in the arms of the Father, He has explained 𝘏𝘪𝘮. John 1:14-18 NASB 2020.
